Finding Support When It Mattered Most – Amelia’s Story
For the past two years, Amelia has been doing her best to keep life steady for her family.
Money has been tight, and covering everyday needs hasn’t been easy. “We were facing a lot of financial problems,” she shared. “Some months, it was hard to know how we would manage everything.” Groceries, clothing, and other essentials had to be carefully planned, with little room for anything unexpected.
When things became too difficult to manage alone, Amelia spoke with her child’s school about what her family was going through. Through that conversation, she was referred to the Halton Learning Foundation for support.
The support came at the right time.
Amelia received a gift card, which helped her family in very practical ways. “This gift card helped us so much,” she shared. “It made my family very happy.”
With the support, Amelia was able to buy groceries for the month and cover other essential needs.
Amelia’s children are autistic, and for her children, routine and comfort matter in their day-to-day lives. Clothing that feels right, shoes that fit properly, and familiar essentials can make a big difference.
“With this gift card, I was also able to buy them some extra clothing, socks, and shoes,” she shared.
For her and her family, this help meant more than covering costs. It meant feeling supported during a difficult time and knowing they were not alone. “Thank you so much once again,” she said, “I truly appreciate what you did for us. God bless you.”
