NO STUDENT LEFT BEHIND

A blue speech bubble with a snow-capped top reads: "Brrr... Esme was shivering on her way to school. Her jacket was too thin, her shoes were soaked, and her socks stayed wet all morning. She tried to warm up in class, but all she could think about was the walk back home." The tone expresses cold and discomfort.

I’m Carrie the Backpack, and I’m dressed for the weather today. My friends at Halton Learning Foundation tell me that many students aren’t.

Last winter a lot of students needed dry boots and winter coats because the ones they wore on the first snow day were worn through. Some didn’t fit.

It’s no fun to walk in the snow or play Carrie the Backpack wearing a hat and scarf. Carrie is a blue and white backpack with a smiling face.with wet feet.

Last year, Esme and 998 other students needed help with all the gear that children need to stay warm.
